Love the game. I do feel like the runners are a bit too slow, making each prestige a bit drawn out. VERY GOOD already.

Runner speed is fine after a few certain prestige upgrades, but the starting speed of runners probably could be faster (+10% or +20%) so the first run or two isn't as painfully slow

eh that's why there are sped upgrades *yes I spelled speed wrong on purpose

Exactly, perhaps as much as 30% and remove some of the upgrades.

I just hope to see it available on Mac desktop when it is finished

I do not plan to support Mac because I do not own one. Unfortunately one cannot easily install macOS like one can Linux to compile for it. Also only 2% of steam users use mac, so prospects aren't great, sorry. Would be cool to know if it works with Whisky/Crossover/Sikarugir though.

Love the game, sent 10bux your way because I've easily got at least that much value out of it.

Works great on Linux using Proton-CachyOS (Native) Runner.

I was surprised with that because I'd guess the word wasn't used at all. But I see now, the word "fucker" is used once when it comes to those radical demodwarves. I don't know man, based on the perspective, there are many "inappropriate" and brutal things when it comes to the dwarves and life, in this and many other fantasy universes, so a basic primal swear word like that does not strike me as particularly inappropriate.

the new update with exporting your save has be unbelievably thankful, my school has Chromebooks that wipe almost everything except for the drive, and now I can save across Chromebooks! yay!

small bug note: when I hover over things like the gold counter are really weird looking

This weird pixel distortion usually happens when you start the game on browsers. As the note says in game's description: If you see weird aspect ratio, resolution or pixel artifacts/glitches, toggle HD mode ON/OFF (F4) and it should fix them. I suggest doing this every time you start playing on browser.

I've just recently gotten to the point where the game starts lagging, after buying the upgrade so the turrets damage the wall. I would play the desktop version, but unfortunately, I am on Mac. Are there any plans to bring this game to Mac as well? If not, I might be able to play it through whisky or something once the steam version drops.

also, I just accidentally closed the tab, and I think I lost my save... I don't know what to do about that. didn't clear cache or cookies or anything, but I'll probably just wait until the steam version is available, and start over there if it's available for Mac.

"Save on quit" doesn't work on browsers if you close the tab. So you should always manually save or have auto-save on low frequency. But unless you disabled auto-save completely and didn't have a previous save, I'm not sure what would cause you to lose all progress.

yeah I don't know what happened with the save, but I'm not too worried about it. I had only done 1 prestige so I wasn't crazy far in. And no worries on Mac support, I never expect devs to plan on supporting Mac, especially if it's 1 dev or a small team, but I am always curious. I appreciate the answer and some shared confusion lol. I do use safari, so that very well might've messed with something. safari typically has some weird issues with browser games sometimes.

the update came at the right time, turns out i forgot to unlock some upgrades in my previous run and that's why it was way slower than usual :)


also i just prestiged and had two gems fall from the sky in the new game, was that intentional?

That's a small bug that can sometimes happen when you prestige. Will be fixed eventually, but enjoy your free gems for now XD

does anyone know what exactly unlocks every building (other than the starting three)? it seems random to me but i haven't been playing too long lol.

i know that the lab and forge unlock some stuff and those unlock others but what unlocks the lab/forge??? this is a mystery to me that i desperately want to figure out.

Amazing game! I've sunk hours into it and still can't stop playing. The graphics and visual effects are absolutely stunning – pure eye candy. Totally worth it, highly recommend!

Maybe add more dmg if i use all buildings.

My whole save got erased somehow. I had every PP upgrade and now its gone because we arent able to export our saves. Please help!

Did you delete your cache/cleared cookies?
The recent patch added save exporting!

Maybe rituals and windbomb could scale off of how much money you have. Like they just cost a percentage of how muhc you have at the time.

I've added some stuff already, but there won't be a lot of bigger content coming until the full release. I'm mainly fixing, optimizing, balancing and polishing for the Steam Demo. However before that I will be adding a couple things still, such as a new collector unit Bulldozer, which should be ready in the next day or two.

Somehow my swap buildings price was -2 gold... A little bit of grinding by swapping some buildings back and forth later, and I'm getting 1.2 Trillion gold per swap.

Haha oops. Ritual cost reductions (from scientists/runesmiths) need to be capped. Plus I don't like the current ritual system of costs exponentially increasing per use either, so I will make a better more linear and cheaper scaling, but increase cooldowns.

it seems i'm able to click on alchemy and have it cost some gold (about 100) despite it being n/a??

on that note, forge artifact shouldn't be accidentally clickable and costing stuff when you already have all the artifacts either

Absolutely love it already, but I'm wondering, will there be an auto-buy for the upgrades? Or at least away to keep a certain amount of upgrades through prestige

How would auto-buy work, like how/which upgrades would you determine need to be auto-bought? And what if situation/plans change? Feels like auto-buy isn't meant for this kind of game and it's more for classical incrementals where you are endlessly buying hundreds of simple producers.

Yeah it's definitely not as necessary here, my only thought is after a few prestige having to buy the basic upgrades for each building each time could get a bit tedious. Something like a perk for specific buildings that only buys gold upgrades if they cost < .01-.1% of total gold could help smooth out the post-prestige bits.

is it normal to have 150K dpm by the time you reach wall 50?

i just finished it with 130k with all the prestige upgrades and a strategy of upgrading whatever random things i can afford, so yeah probably


though it also took me like an hour longer than last time, but i guess i was also paying less attention to stuff

it would be nice to have a way of knowing how many times the runsmith enchants are used on a dwarf, or be able to see if you have already used it 4 times

If you try enchanting and it's been used 4 times it will tell you. But yeah there could be some kind of indicator, I will anyway be adding a dwarf stats panel that shows you all their important stats.

Disregard my previous posts: I don't know how and when the developer managed to fix the runner bug but it's not happening anymore. It made me sound ungrateful but trust me that bug was annoying, I envy those who will play the game without ever knowing it. Now if it could be possible to have the downloadable exe working on windows 7, that would be perfect.

Have you tried installing Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributables?

Hello, I just did and it still does not work unfortunately. Getting Entry Point Not Found error. Specifically "MFCreateDXGIDeviceManager could not be located in teh dynamic link library MFPlat.DLL". The browser version works so not everything is lost, I can still enjoy your game but if you ever find a workaround for W7, I'll take it! Cheers.

After some research it seems like Windows 7 support was dropped in GameMaker 2024.11+. The incompatibility stems from a dependency on the MFCreateDXGIDeviceManager function, which is not present in Windows 7. Sadly there is nothing I can do about this. Might be time to update to newer OS. According to Steam hardware & software survey only 0.08% of people still use Win7.

I appreciate that friend and I know all of this. If there is nothing you can do on your end then so be it. Thanks for taking the time to answer and search everything, you are dedicated. I'll stick to the browser version for now. By the way the concept of your game is well made and very entertaining! Cheers.

The gems are now flying in the sky, and the runners have lost their jobs because there's no work for them anymore

Haha, lvl 100+ is wild! Amongst other things I will definitely have to diminishingly cap ore force/velocity that scales with damage, so they don't just (always) fly off the screen and directly into the stash.

I played the game for 7 hours straight and really liked it. I won’t go into the runner bugs - the only thing I’ll say is that the early game ramps up too slowly. It takes a long time before you reach your first decent results, and during that wait you already feel like closing the game because the beginning is boring and drags on. If the early phase were sped up by about 25-30%, it would feel much better

UNPLAYABLE. Your runner bug is tied to the carry capacity. Every time I select the carry capacity upgrade, it resets magically the runners. Until they get knocked out by calamities/enemies and then it's bug time all over again. Impossible to make a profit, impossible to get all the ores that pile up and bury the precious stones. Simply put, a waste of time

I believe the latest hotfix fixed the issue. Sorry for the troubles. What made fixing this bug so hard is that somehow I cannot replicate the bug in my games, and I had many different game states running at once trying to replicate it to no success, and since reloading fixes the issue, that made it even worse.

I'll get one guy running, and several dudes that just smoke forever...  or until they're hit with debris or critters.  Getting hit with debris seems to exhaust them, so they're right back to the pipe. I've seen this behavior before, back when I was in software development -- have you tried putting tobacco in their pipes instead?

On a more serious note, It feels like it's either an off by one issue (for example, using > instead of =>), or because one runner isn't affected, it might be an unintended index reinitialization when you're iterating over the runners' endurance cycle (it keeps resetting to runner zero instead of cycling up to update the subsequent runners).  Take all of that with a grain of salt, mind you -- I'm no developer.  These are just the kinds of dumb errors I've made when trying to get something to work.

Haha yeah, too much pixie dust, not enough other herbs. And yeah I am too familiar with > instead of >= which is one of the first things I checked. But it seems it was some other unrelated issue with caching the rocks in the runner's payload, which is something I really wasn't expecting lol. It should be fixed now though, hopefully. I had a great time with this one. Wishlisted on steam. The performance does tend to chug in late game, and I did end up crashing it with an error for too many draw calls, but I suspect the non-web version will be more stable. Looking forward to the full release!

why make an idle game that have to be on focus or get paused?

Note: Game auto-pausing when the tab loses focus is a really annoying "feature" of GM GX WebAssembly that I cannot disable. Which is a real shame for a game like this. You can try tricking it, or playing on the desktop version where there is no pausing and the performance is also a lot better.

my runners are also stuck smoking now, seems the fixes didn't work... at least quitting the game also fixed them

it only happened once in the beginning, maybe knowing that will help? i didn't write down which exactly upgrades i had though

I confirm that your fix seems to work.

Great game! Played it for a while (45 mins) and loved it, but i realized that 8 out of the 10 runners i had were just stuck permanently smoking. Addiction possibly? The game became un playable, with most of the screen being gold and gems. 

Hope you find a way to fix it!

The Guzzler is such a great QoL update! Loving it so much!

Hope at one point there will be a way to generate Dwarf Souls and Mythril passively/with units/buildings/Prestige upgrades/rare artifacts at late game, that's my main bottleneck after getting everything

I play the browser version on my phone - sometimes I can't exit the ritual or shuffling mode (it asks for right click or ESC, which I can't do on mobile), bit it's a minor issue

There will be bunch more artifacts/prestiges/late-game-upgrades, so most likely some of them will have ways to generate mithril/souls. One of them for example would be a ritual that forges mithril into a dwarf simulacrum, or a dwarf into mithril haha.

Wow, you must have a beast of a phone, since not only do browsers run poorly, but my phone really struggles to get decent fps even early game. But yeah, the game isn't designed for mobile in any way, though I hope I will be able to properly support it after a successful steam launch.

This game is fantastic and the rate you're updating is insane! Thanks for putting something this good out for free.

My husband and I have been playing together on our separate screens and saying shit like "I yearn for the mines" lol

One issue I have run into is I play in browser (Linux user lol) and I keep pretty much all the effects turned off at all times, but the particles keep turning back on every time I prestige.

Great game so far!

Only issue i found is sometimes the dwarves keep resting in a loop(they seem to reset every time, there's the "sweat burst" animation every few seconds...

I just uploaded a patch which hopefully fixed it. It was a tough bug I couldn't quite find directly, so if it still persists please tell me, possibly with a video or more information. Thanks for reporting!

Sorry to report, after forcing reload to get the newest version(i hope) this still happens.
On a separate but related topic, can i suggest adding a version line under in information panel so we can better check we have the latest update to help troubleshooting?

I think the runner dwarves sometimes get stuck in a rest loop, never actually going out and just resting again and again. Only restarting fixes it so far

did the game get laggier after the guzzer update or is that just me? reached the high levels and it's been freezing every couple seconds

(yeah i'm also still playing the browser version, i don't want to abandon my saved progress with all of the prestige :])

i think i'm also getting a lot more simultaneous ores rn than when i played last on the same mountain levels (mountain 70-80, ~900 vs ~700 ores) but maybe that's just me being more successful 

also lol looming motivation and the reclaiming/despawning don't help much when all the 900 simultaneous ores are in the air.....

The problem with wind bomb and the boons scaling with use makes them unaffordable really quickly. Wind bomb isnt that great anyway but can be really useful early game pre gorilla arms.

Well you have about 20 uses before it gets really costly, so you gotta conserve them. Plus they get reduced by scientists and the prestige upgrade that reduces costs by 45%. But I agree it's still bad and needs work. I'm thinking of adding a prestige upgrade that reduces costs or coefficients of all rituals by 10%~ every time you kill a mountain or maybe every few minutes. That way they have some staying power late game and there is some strategy to them. But that too might not be enough and I might have to think of something else. Maybe a simpler linear scaling. It could cost almost no gold but have a large CD, but then you can't spam Wind Bomb, and Swap Building needs to have a low CD to not be annoying, plus it's linked to the laser cannon's disco shuffle, so it needs a cost...

This is basically just saying there are so many ores on the screen that you reached the maximum memory of 2GB, and then when scribble tried to render text it couldn't because there wasn't any memory. Did the game crash or just slow down? Anyway I suggest playing on desktop, especially if playing late game endless mode, because it runs a lot better there and has access to a lot more memory. This was a crash.

I’d play the desktop version, but I don’t want to deal with the hassle of manually looking for updates and downloading the new version before each session. (besides, save import/export isn’t here yet)

I’ll switch over to the Steam demo when it drops.

I had just reached this point where my dwarves were chucking so much treasure that the physics started making the bits miss. And not 10 seconds later, I check my upgrades and a new runner upgrade popped up that fixes it by letting the Maw suck up the treasure.

Are you sure? Can you post a screenshot please? I can't replicate the bugs and haven't seen anyone else report it. Strange.

the 5 ish dwarves on the right are all stuck. I've tried to knock them loose with a wind bomb but its not working because I'm like 3 upgrades away from fully upgrading everything. every once in a while one or two other dwarves will start veeeerrrryyy slowly moving backwards. in the picture the one just to the right of the stuck cluster is going backwards. Sorry the reply took so long. thanks for your help! :)

this is only the feeling I have in my soul. idk if it has any merit at all BUT, I think it might be an issue with the maw suction upgrade. the problem only started after the update, and about half of the dwarves running through the stuck cluster slow down to a crawl then start moving backwards. I think for some dwarves that location specifically messes up their speed and slows them down. then they cannot interact with the wall properly and turn around like they are supposed to. I think the maw suction is mapped to that location for my dumb dwarves and sucking them in for whatever reason. sorry if this is the dumbest thing in the universe haha.

I am not sure which 5 runners do you mean? The ones next to the mountain, looking to the left and carrying big piles of gems? Or do you mean that 1 runner that is somehow stuck in the mountain right at the edge of the screen? In either case it's very weird that they would be blocked by anything or moving slowly. It would be great help if you could record a video and maybe post it in discord, or at least explain it in more detail (how exactly it happened? what exactly are they doing and which dwarves exactly?). Thank you for reporting this
